Honor Thy Father is an official entry to Metro Manila Film Festival 2015. It is written and directed by Erik Matti starring John Lloyd Cruz and Meryll Soriano. This is an action drama movie that is produced and distributed by Reality Entertainment.

This movie is also known as Con-Man and screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. And also it has been selected to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. Erik Matti who also directed the box office hit On-The-Job movie starred by Piolo Pascual, Gerald Anderson and and Joel Torre.

The casts of this movie are John Lloyd Cruz as Edgar, Dan Fernandez, Tirso Cruz III as Bishop Tony, Meryll Soriano as Kaye, Khalil Ramos, Krystal Brimner as Angel, Yayo Aguila, Perla Bautista, Dalin Sarmiento as Liza, Boom Labrusca, William Martinez as Pastor Obet and Lander Vera Perez. The film is about a couple, John Lloyd Cruz who portrays Edgar and Meryll Soriano who portrays as Kaye.

The couple has financial struggle not until Kaye made millions promoting her father’s investment scheme to fellow parishioners and friends. But one day when Edgar go to his father’s in law house only to find out that the house has been ransacked and his father in law is gone. Soon after Kaye’s friends and fellow parishioners turn on them and asking for their money back. The couple then starts receiving death threats and Edgar seeks help to his somehow criminal family.

I was once amazed by Erik Matti’s On the Job and I know this movie will be another eye opener to all people. Erik Matti never fails us, especially with John Lloyd Cruz and Meryll Soriano performances in this movie. This would be on my top list this coming December 25, 2015.
